ABOUT ANDREA TORRES

Andrea Torres
Trainer & Operator

Andrea Torres was born on October 20th 1982, in Bogotá, Colombia. She started riding sporadically at age 6 and by age 9 she was competing in the jumpers. Living in Colombia, coached by her father Manuel Torres, who has had extreme success in the sport, representing Colombia five times in the Olympic Games, World Cup Finals, PanAm Games and World Equestrian Games. Andrea was able to represent her country as a child in the South American games and take part of several national championships. Her and her family moved to the US in 2000 and Andrea finished her degree at American University in International Business, Finance and Management. Once she graduated, Andrea got a job in a global consulting firm and worked through the ranks within the company to fuel her equestrian career. Jumping as an amateur, Andrea became one of the most competitive amateurs of the country with multiple and consistent wins in the AO division. She soon started jumping the national Grand Prix level while juggling a full-time job and taking care of her beautiful twins. Andrea has now become consistently competitive in international competitions around the US, which made her turn professional in 2020. She now runs her business from her Santa Catalina Farm in Waterford, VA conveniently located close to DC and 15 minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport.
